Accessibility Statement
Declaration on Accessibility
We are committed to making our website accessible in accordance with the Federal Act on Accessibility Requirements for Products and Services (Accessibility Act – BaFG).
This accessibility statement applies to the website www.poeckl.at.
Status of Compatibility with the Requirements
This website is partially compliant with the WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards. Extensive measures have been taken to improve accessibility for all users. However, certain barriers currently remain, which we detail below.
Non-accessible Content
The following content and elements are not fully accessible for the reasons given:
- Product displays with image and text link
Product images and product names each link to the same detail page. Since the image alone contains no visible link text, this may trigger warnings in automated tests. However, all images are equipped with alt texts, and the product name is also linked separately. This dual linking is intentional and meets usability and accessibility standards according to WCAG. - Duplicate IDs caused by product slider
In certain areas of the website – particularly within product sliders – multipleid
attributes may appear due to technical limitations of the plugin used. This happens when identical products are displayed more than once within a slider. Interaction and usability are not affected. Buttons and image captions are properly labeled. Fixing this would require altering the plugin functionality, so this issue is currently considered a known technical limitation. - Missing semantic list structure in product grid
For design reasons, product overviews on the website are not structured using traditional HTML lists (<ul>
,<li>
), but are displayed using flexible containers. However, all products are clearly separated, have descriptive alt texts, and are fully operable via keyboard and screen reader. Usability and accessibility are thus not compromised. - Identical link texts with different destinations
In some areas – such as product grids with repeated buttons like “Learn more” – links with identical text lead to different destinations. These links are properly labeled and embedded in their appropriate context. Users can clearly understand the link’s destination from the surrounding context. Automated testing tools may flag this structure as a warning, even though it poses no usability issue in real-world usage. - Color contrast of individual elements due to corporate color (
#FF0101
)
The corporate color#FF0101
is used in several places on the website – such as for buttons, text links, or graphic elements. In certain combinations (e.g., red text on a white background), the contrast may fall below the WCAG recommended minimum. This design decision intentionally follows our defined corporate identity and reflects the brand’s visual appearance. Despite the lower contrast, readability is ensured by sufficiently large font sizes and clear spacing. Accessibility and usability are not impaired as a result.
