The Rosso e Nero - the "best second wine in Austria"
- as the Presse magazine named it, is a cuvée of indigenous
varieties with a shot of Cabernet Sauvignon. It begins the
round of premium red wines.

65 % Zweigelt,
5 % St. Laurent
15 % Blaufränkisch
15 % Cabernet Sauvignon
Soil
according to variety - gravely soil, black earth with
gravel, strong clay soil
Vines
Zweigelt is around 17 years old
Blaufränkisch is between 7 and 40 years old
At 43 years, the St. Laurent is our oldest vineyard
Cabernet Sauvignon is 10 years old
Harvest
according to variety, between 20 September and 15 October
1999
Storage
for 20 months following malolactic fermentation in barrels,
60% of which are new and 40% are filled only once
Consumption maturity
from 2003 - 2010
Wine description
dark ruby garnet, black core, violet reflexes, somewhat tea
taste, blackcurrent, tender leafed, fine spicy accent, elegant
elderberry-like fruitiness on the palate, a sweet nougat touch
