Pinot Noir
Pinot Noir is truly demanding:
- A plant in the vineyard, it prefers cool to hot.
- A grape on the vine, it's very sensitive due to its thin skin.
- And in the cellar, it is quite moody.
Not surprising, also the bottled wine draws divided opinions. Nevertheless we are enthusiastic about this wine and convinced of its quality. Both on the nose and the palate it presents its fine but nifty character.
Our Pinot Noir grows on gravel, sand and heavy clay and ages in 70% new and 30% used Barrique barrels for 18 months.
This wine presents a typical medium carmine garnet colour. On the nose you find an intensive scent of forest berries and smoky minerals. The wine tastes juicy on the palate with subtle aromas of heart-cherries and raspberry pulp. It impresses with firm tannins and builds up sweetness towards the finish.
