A fine selection
The results of the tasting were published in issue Winter/Spring 2012 of Alfons Schuhbeck's Seasons. Here the part that concerned our wine (free translation by Weingut Pöckl):
Admiral 2007 Pöckl
The great and intense smell of forest fruits, black cherries, licquorice and sweet aromas makes this wine an incredibly complex and stimulating representative of Austrian red wine cuvées. On the palate, the tannins dominate at first. But after some time, they excellently merge with the fruit and flavour. A wine which reminds of classic Bordeaux rather than Burgenland. You should allow this wine some time and maturation.
