Agriculture, cattle breeding and viticulture were the three supporting pillars of the business that Albert Pöckl, the grandfather, founded after his return from America in 1910. Theodor took over the farm after the war in 1947.

The son, Josef Pöckl, a graduate of the Agricultural School of Viticulture in Eisenstadt, concentrated on viticulture and in 1979 assumed responsibility of the wine estate - thus bringing into motion a process of increasing quality, which catapulted the Pöckl Wine Estate into the highest class of all Austrian producers of red wine.

The top wines - Admiral, Rêve de Jeunesse and Mystique - enjoy cult status in the wine scene far beyond Austria's borders.

René, the son of Theresa and Josef Pöckl, and creator of the already award winning "Rêve de Jeunesse," has been the winemaker at the estate since 1 January 2001.
